In our most recent Yellow Pages poll, we asked you if you see public holidays as a marketing opportunity for your business. The results are in: only 32% said yes, while the overwhelming majority (68%) of respondents said no.<\/b><\/p>\n

We get it. When you\u2019re running a small business, long weekends are a chance to get some much-needed R&R. They are, however, also prime marketing opportunities for your business.<\/p>\n

Here are three ways you can take advantage of public holidays in Australia to promote your business.<\/p>\n

1. Leverage timely keywords.<\/h2>\n

In the lead up to a public holiday, the amount of Google searches for keywords related to that holiday increases. It could be tourists checking up the opening hours of local business \u2014 such as ‘cafes open on Queen\u2019s Birthday’ \u2014 or gift-givers searching for inspiration, like ‘best Easter chocolates in Sydney’.<\/p>\n

One of the best holiday marketing strategies is to incorporate holiday-specific keywords<\/a> on your home page, or create a dedicated web page. By doing this, you\u2019ll have a better chance to boost your visibility with your target customers on Google searches.<\/p>\n

2. Get creative!<\/h2>\n

Think outside the box and grab your customers\u2019 attention with timely marketing content during the Australian public holidays in 2020.<\/p>\n
