The formatting is difficult to read.<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>If you\u2019re going to promise readers an article with seven reasons why no one is reading their content, you had better give them a numbered list with seven reasons.<\/p>\n<p>But seriously, if you make that kind of promise in the headline and then offer up a big chunk of text, there\u2019s no way they\u2019ll still be reading at the end. Use line breaks, sub headings, bullet points, and images \u2013 generally, make your content as easy on the eye as possible. If it\u2019s less than once a week, it\u2019s generally not enough.<\/p>\n<p>Many companies will aim for a new post two to three times per week, while the real big hitters will go for a couple of pieces of content a day. At minimum, give your readers something new at least once per week, or you risk losing their attention for good.<\/p>\n<p>Plus, regular posting can help with your <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yellow.com.au\/product\/yellow-seo\/\">organic SEO<\/a><\/span>, which is always a win.<b><\/b><\/p>\n<h3><b>5. There\u2019s a lack of paid promotion<\/b>.<\/h3>\n<p>You might have the best blog on the internet, but without an amplification strategy, how is anyone going to know it exists? Unfortunately, simply posting your content to Facebook or Twitter isn\u2019t going to do the job unless you already have a massive following on social media. In most cases, you need to consider putting some of your marketing spend behind paid promotion. This could be pay-per-click, display ads, social media promotion, a mix of all three, or something else altogether.<\/p>\n<h3><b>6. It\u2019s too salesy.<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>Did you know that <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/pagefair.com\/blog\/2017\/adblockreport\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">11% of the global internet population uses adblockers<\/a><\/span>? Nobody likes to be sold to, especially not if they\u2019re trying to read up about whatever it is you\u2019ve promised to tell them in the headline. If your blog post or landing page reads more like ad copy, you\u2019re going to annoy your readers (and see your website traffic suffer).<\/p>\n<p>Instead of making a hard sell in your copy, throw some natural links to landing pages or products, and use clear calls to action in the side bars or as buttons throughout the content, rather than trying to sneak it into the written word.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>7. It\u2019s not optimised for mobile.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>With the majority of people surfing the web on their mobile devices, you need to be absolutely sure your content is easy to read on smaller screens.
